Hey Beautiful souls!
You ever heard the saying a mother’s work is never done? I couldn’t comprehend how a mother could never get a chance to rest. Being the mom of a three year old boy I swiftly began to understand the true meaning to the popular saying, with all the different tasks you have to complete, it doesn’t feel like you have enough time in the day. I feel that in my everyday life there’s always something that needs to be done.
I work from home, I know what you are thinking but even with working from home you have to still learn how to juggle. Juggling is what a parent does best. While you are working and still caring for your child you have to maintain juggling work, cooking, teaching, and cleaning, etc. Even when your child is away at school, daycare, or with a loved one (family member) you still have to juggle.
When you think about it your child looks at you as a superhero. As soon as my son gets out of school he expects his daily drink and snack. What my son doesn’t know while I prepared his after school snack I was also still finishing working, cleaning up, and throwing a last load of clothes in the washing machine. I know how overwhelming it can be with all the different tasks you have on a day to day. Also, learning to balance the pertinent with the non-pertinent is an enormous part of juggling because you have to prioritize your tasks and learn it’s okay to not complete everything in one day.
While balancing everything else you have to learn how to balance time for yourself. Sometimes I find myself wrapped up in finishing up different tasks I didn’t take the time to stop and think what do I need. This is a question that moms do not often get to ask themselves. A mom’s work is never done, but to be the best parent for your child, you need to ensure you’re the best version of yourself. This can be as simple as going for a walk or treating yourself to your favorite dessert. Remember balancing self-care with your responsibilities is the key to maintaining your overall well-being.
