Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone

Hello Beautiful People,

When God chooses to elevate you, He will take you out of what is familiar and lead you into the unknown. Yes, that can feel scary, but when you’re walking with God, you truly have nothing to fear. Since God is calling you into this new place, remember He has already gone ahead of you. The path is prepared before you even arrive. God knows exactly what you need before you step into the next season.

When God began calling me out of my comfort zone, He was guiding me through changes I didn’t fully understand. At first, I was hesitant in letting go, until the Holy Spirit spoke to me, “You have to let go of the old, to make room for the new.”

Starting my business required me to leave old habits, mindsets, and environments behind- things that could no longer serve me in this new territory God was leading me into. Honestly, it is still a process. That’s the beauty of having a relationship with God; He will intentionally take His time with you. He works on you and through you, drawing out what He has already placed inside of you. He wasn’t surprised by my hesitation; He knew it would be part of the process in my growth and healing.

As you step outside your comfort zone and into new territory, don’t panic. Walk with confidence, knowing you are exactly where God has called you to be. This unfamiliar place will require a new way of thinking and a new way of moving. That might look like less time with your friends and more time alone with God. Less scrolling and more time in God’s word. Less TV and, for some of us (me included), more writing.

Don’t cling to comfort just because it’s familiar. Whatever “normal” you’ve been holding onto that is keeping you from growing in closer fellowship with God. Let it go and walk. Walking into the unfamiliar, which is hardly ever easy, but choosing to follow Jesus will transform your life. You will begin doing things you never imagined you could.

Trust in the Lord, and give Him your undivided attention.

I want to leave you with this scripture:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3: 5-6.
